So staying in a house with 3 mine workers, one (meaning me) is bound to wake up early....6.15am early to be exact :) But all is good because I get to sleep in the next 3 mornings. Poor Caroline does this every morning but even earlier so I am glad she will get to sleep in Friday morning when she comes to stay with us at The Vintage. Caroline, being the versatile chick that she is, gave Tanya a spray tan before she went to work and Tanya was very excited about this, even though she felt a bit sticky & couldn't shower for 8 hours. We ducked down to Woolies to get a few supplies then went back to the house to pick up the puppies and took them to the kennels. Now in nearly 8 years we have never put them in a kennel so needless to say I was a bit upset leaving my babies with a stranger & being put in a cage....but I was strong (well maybe there was a little tear) and even with Izzy giving her little woof as we walked away, I kept walking. I am sure they are going to be fine & I am not going to call to check on them. We got to the Vintage at 10.30am & were very lucky as our room was ready so we were able to check in. So we unpacked our stuff and then went for a drive to The Smelly Cheese Shop & got some great blue cheese & Tanya was able to buy blue goats cheese which she was really excited about. Then to McGuigan's for a bit of a taste & got a bottle of Verdelho, a walk to The Hunter Valley Gardens where we discovered Chilli Port....again Tanya was very excited....then back to the resort. Relaxed a bit, Tanya was finally able to have a shower & then we had a very nice plate of cheese, chilli olives, salami & pate with our wine....so nice. We went for a walk to check out the gym & then The Vintage Golf Club where we had a drink overlooking the golf course....very nice also. Back to the room for some more drinks & relaxing as unfortunately the weather is not very nice so sitting out on the balcony is not an option. I made Crispy Skin Salmon with Feta Beans & Pepper Carrots (home grown by Serena) and Basil Pesto on the side (which I made with Serena’s Basil)....and I have to say, it was bloody awesome....who needs restaurants. So all in all we have had a pretty great day and are really hoping that we wake up to some sunshine....might have a liqueur now & watch the L Word that we still have not finished.
Good night xo
