This morning the sun was shining in through our bedroom window, the bed here at Louise's is so comfy that I did not want to get out of it. I decided it was time for a cuppa and emerged. Louise is not an early riser when she is on a day off, so I was on my own for a little while. Breakfast was more like brunch and then we headed off to the Prahran Markets with our puppies in tow. I am trialing Charlie on hands free and attached her lead to my belt loop, she did very well. I am hoping to teach her to become wireless. There is so much to look at inside the markets so I looked for some very hot salami stick.....I had no luck finding that but came across a fridge full of cheeses and goodies for 4 for $10 so jumped at the chance to get 3 different goats cheeses and some quince paste, bargain. We walked the puppies back and on our return Louise did a little preparation for dinner and then her and Alvo had a nanna nap while I did some tablet research on Louise's IPad......nice. On their rising....the fun began. We were chopping and cooking and throwing in spices that sent an aroma through the house that would entice even the fussiest eater. On the menu is slow cooked lamb shanks, chicken with eggplant and figs, orange blossom carrots, beetroot salad, beans and a sauce I have never heard of but sounds delicious. I can't wait for dinner. We cracked open the sweet spritzy white followed by the sweet spritzy red and then the rose with dinner. Dinner was amazing, there is no other way to explain the magnificent flavours in the dishes that Louise spent hours preparing with love. I ate more than my fair share and then enjoyed a sneaky port accompanied by some dark Lindt and caramel chocolate....yep it is my dairy treat, I avoid dairy at all costs usually but when it comes to port and dark chocolate....I crack. Louise is off on a long weekend getaway tomorrow so we will return to Ros' beautiful little home after a very enjoyable stay with a beautiful friend here in Prahran.
